Group Disabilty
Disability insurance provides protection against loss of income in the event a crew member is declared totally disabled such that they are signed off as medically Unfit for Duty, or are medically unfit to return to work at the end of their vacation. A benefit may be payable whether the total disability is temporary or permanent.
This benefit includes the following features:
- Effective worldwide
- Covers disability due to accident or sickness
- Coverage is 365 days a year, 24 hours per day
- Effective both when signed on or signed off
- Choice of waiting periods from seven days and up with a benefit payable of up to 100% of salary
Coverage is available to groups of five or more. Benefit periods are typically 52 weeks for illness and 104 weeks for accident; however, other options are available if desired including Long Term Disability.
